Acai palm beads

The Acai seed come from the Acai palm (Euterpe oleracea), which is found in the lush rainforests of South America. These trees grow predominantly in the swamps and in the flood plains. The palm can grow upto 50-100 meters high. The small purple berries grow in clusters on the palm. The fruit is harvested for food and used often as a beverage. The seed has high antioxidant and energizing properties. The leaves are used in handicrafts, like baskets and the wood for construction.

The seeds are collected and coloured in Equador.
